Quilt Goddess - A Miniature Quilt

I'm working on it. One of my friends saw my pile of WIPS and UFO's and dubbed me the Quilt Goddess. I highly doubt it, but it inspired me to make a miniature quilt of the Goddess.

I'll probably donate it to the AAQI. I'm hand quilting it. Might take a while. :)

Star Light, Star Bright

Star Light, Star Bright, a swap quilt top is finished tonight.

I did a swap in 2010 for bright stars on black Kona solids. Each block measured 8.5" before sewn into the quilt top. The theme was brights, and I just LOVE how this quilt top turned out. I had the lime green and bright orange in my stash, and it wasn't big enough for my liking after I added the borders/sashing, whatever you want to call it. So then I searched a bit longer and found the white.

Because each of the blocks are so bright, I wanted to add a bright border around each block and I grabbed the bright green and bright orange. Then, it was still a bit small for me, so I took some white on white fabric, and added a 6.5" (unfinished) border.

For the backing, I'm cutting the remaining green fabric and some more of the WOW. Each of the girls who did the blocks made a small siggie block. The siggies are going to be framed in white, then with the remaining orange fabric around. I'm still working on the label.

I'm going to be stippling the quilt probably in bright orange or lime green. DH thinks white.

I'm just BOOMING

From OATW13, she sent me a huge surprise, not one block, but TWO:

From OATW13 - the SECOND one she sent!! How cool is that!

From Nancia. It's called Stepping Stone and was her first time doing anything like it. :) I think it turned out just lovely!

This is beautiful, and it's from NanaKathy55.

And I received this one, but had a slight mishap with the paper label falling off it. :( Soon as I figure out who made it, I'll be in good shape.

Week 25: June 19-25, 2011

Kind of going off last weeks theme, I figured that we'd go VINTAGE this week. Doesn't matter if we use VINTAGE fabric, or buttons, or lace, or a scanned in picture that is VINTAGE. Let's pull out all of the old stuff that we hoard for whatever reason, and *use* it! You can make your mini on an old machine.. the possibilities are endless.

PandaMonium

This one just kept growing and growing. It's too big now for the AAQI, measuring in at a "whopping" 12"x15". I was practicing FMQ on this one, and writing with it. I don't think it turned out too bad, not my best by far, but I'm pretty happy. Now all it needs is binding and a loving label.

Week 24: June 12-18, 2011

Sorry I'm a little late with posting this one, but I couldn't decide on a theme. Naturally, I go surfing blogs to get inspiration and one of the blocks that I saw was a Sunbonnet Sue. To be honest, I'm unsure if I like it or not. It looks kind of fun, but in the same too "old" for me. Maybe I'll like it if I make one this week.

This weeks theme is SUNBONNET SUE.

More Boom Blocks

I must be feeling the Boom South love. These 3 are for the south group.

For Nancia. She sent the blue fabric. I just love it.

This one is for Leann. She also sent the blue fabric. When I opened up her envelope I was so happy I immediately went to my teal and brown. It was a perfect match!

This little gem is for Difergie. She sent the fabric with the small circles, and I'm just thrilled that I had matching fabric. I wanted to pull out the colors in it since there were quite a few. I tried to pull out the pink, blue, browns and yellow.

So he got a pillow..

The wife got the apron as a hostess gift. Her dear husband, another good friend of ours has his birthday on June 10. His wife loves the Broncos, and he loves the San Fransisco 49ers. The SF49ers happen to be my favorite team too. He's not a huge fan of aprons, and I wanted to do something nice for his birthday but not an apron. I found some pillow panels that I've had for ages. My father gave me the panels before he died. Dad died in 2007, and I don't honestly remember when Dad gave me the panels. I knew our friend would appreciate something with the 9ers.

This is the pillow I made. My DH took it into work and gave it to our friend there. Apparently it sat proudly on his desk all day.

Week 23: June 5-11, 2011

My sewing space is cluttered again. Gotta take some time to clean it, but I know that I'll just clutter it up again in a matter of days. Seems that I can't work well when everything is in perfect order. Must be my creative side: I'm an Aquarius after all.

This week, lets play around with our star signs or our Zodiac sign. Do you fit your Zodiac sign? You can pick do do your Zodiac sign or Chinese Zodiac.

*squealing with excitement*
It's DONE!! Ready!! I'm so thrilled. I've been holding back from you all, but I've published my first pattern. It's for a miniature quilt or wall hanging, measuring approx 15" square. If you want to add other borders that can make it larger.

It's called Fairy Dreaming.
It comes as a PDF file (Printed patterns will be available later) and it's 6 pages long. It's for Fusible Applique. There are two sizes for the fairy and birds, and the images have been reversed, so your fairy/birds can face opposite directions.

The price for the pattern is $6.50.
The pattern will be emailed to you (At your PayPal email unless otherwise specified) within 24 hours of receipt of payment. I'm so thrilled to finally be able to offer this pattern.

I've been a very busy girl, and there are 6 other patterns on their way. I hope you enjoy the pattern!

And if you'd like me to send you an embellishment kit for $1.50 plus 1.50 shipping

I'm officially Insane.

I'm doing it. Finally figured out a use for all my 1" squares that I've been saving. I'm going to make a miniature quilt (maybe bigger, I have a ton of 1" squares). Each of the finished hexagons is 3/8"!!

I have over 50 of these basted, but wanted to share my first flower with everyone!

Week 22: The "Famous" Quilt Top Done

Top is complete, I just started hand quilting it. My mom introduced me to the music of Janis Joplin when I was really small, and I still love her music today! I plan on hand quilting it with titles of her songs.

It's sandwiched, pinned and ready for hand quilting. Hopefully I finish the entire thing by the end of the summer. Maybe when I have a bit more time I'll just hand quilt it.

It was inspired by a pattern by Chantal Pare
